Around 1600, Pope Clement VIII tasted coffee for the first time. People were suspicious of this beverage from the Near East, called it Satan's Drink, believed it was only for the infidels. The Pope found the drink to his liking, and blessed the bean, and blessed the rest of the world with the gift of coffee. He said "Why this Satan's drink is so delicious, that it would be a pity to let the infidels have exclusive use of it. We shall cheat Satan by baptizing it."

The cup is perfect for:

  • Celebrating the blessing of the morning beverage
  • Looks great with donuts and other breakfast treats
  • Dark black coffee looks best in this cup, but a murky swirl of cream and sugar adds a contemplative touch
  • Made of Ceramic
  • Dishwasher and microwave safe
  • White and glossy with a vibrant print
  • One side has Pope Clement VIII's famous quote, the other side has a painting of his portrait
